PM COE Implementation
The PM CoE (Project Management Center of Excellence) combines the disciplines of project, program, portfolio and change management. The primary focus is to support strategic forecast planning with the establishment of corporate project standards.
Standards could include PM process, methodology and PM training (Critical Chain methodology vs. Critical Path; Using Social Media in Managing Projects, MS Project and MS Project Server setup, etc.)
A PMforward consultant will first assess the organization’s knowledge and skill levels and practices. Based on that information, a charter will be written in order to communicate the CoE’s vision. After assembling the Project and Steering Teams, the COE will be implemented.
By facilitating collaboration between executives, managers and personnel, project roles and responsibilities become clear and defined. By implementing project best practices, processes will improve because of the institutionalization of project lessons learned.
