The BCforward project management methodology provides solutions through the use of tools and processes to ensure consistent quality with scalable and repeatable project management practices. A maturity assessment may become necessary in light of company acquisitions, business reorganizations, departmental inconsistencies or audits. Maturity assessments are ideal if project processes are not repeatable, consistent or optimized.
Our approach begins with the development of a maturity assessment charter. To that end, we will interview key sponsors and stakeholders, review current project management process, procedure and methodology. We will then provide a gap analysis against project management industry best practice and provide project management recommendations.
A maturity assessment can identify organizational gaps and systemic shortfalls in project management capabilities and individual project managers. By providing perspective from the internal project managers, business managers and key stakeholders, we can make objective external assessments and recommendations, and provide evidence of commitment to improve quality through process improvement. A maturity assessment also establishes baseline for future metrics, and can serve as a roadmap of targeted activities to improve project delivery capabilities and produce consistent project quality going forward.
